Motivational Monday

It’s Monday morning, and you are having that dreading sinking feeling that you have to get out of bed and face yet another day. Just the thought of lifting your head off the pillow is enough to make you cry. You can even fathom thinking any further, like to breakfast, or actually going out the house to work. If you are a stay at home parent, the though of having to drag the kids out of bed and get them ready for school and prepared for the day ahead could make you cry. For some, just the thought of opening your eyes could make you cry.

Well, this virtual hug is for you. You are doing the best you can with what you have. I just want to let you know you are not alone. You’ve got this! You may not be able to see it right now, but you are stronger than you could imagine. You are a beautiful human being, which in itself is actually amazing. You can breathe. Air is going in and out of your lung as you read this, without even thinking about it. You are alive!

No matter how hard life seems right now, and the struggles you face, this is not forever. Things can and will change at a moments notice. Just because this morning is bad, or last night was horrible, it will get better. You may not see it right now, but there is light at the end of that tunnel. The best moments of your life could be just around the next corner. The sun will shine again.

“Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the lights” Albus Dumbledore.

I am here to turn on the light for you, if you have forgotten. You have so much to offer the world, that you haven’t even thought of yet. It may not seem like it, but someone loves you, someone cares about you. You are never alone.

I hope you all have an amazing week, and much love sent out to all of you.

Teacher Appreciation Post

When I was younger, I lived in a small town in Newfoundland called Gambo. It’s 30 mins east of Gander, and the best small town you could ever want to come across.

In my younger years, I struggled with math a lot, but I had one teacher who never gave up on me, Mr. Paul Maloney. He commuted from Gander everyday for years to teach at Bayview Heights( SmallWood Academy). He was my grade 4 homeroom teacher and taught me math and science in grade 7. While in grade 7, he spent countless lunch hours missing out on his lunch, or rushing through his lunch, just so he could take the time to tutor me in math. He wanted to make sure I passed with the rest of my class.

In the middle of grade 8, my family moved from Gambo to Gander because my father found a job. In the spring of grade 9, Mr. Maloney took the time every week in the evenings after supper to help me study to pass my grade 9 finals. I wasn’t even in his school anymore, and he made sure I got the help I deserved, taking away his free time yet again. He never once asked for anything, except for me to work my hardest and get the grades he believed I could.

If I could ever get the chance to speak to this man again, I would want to say thank you for believing in me, when I didn’t believe in myself. Thank you for your constant care and attention so that I could make it through school. I was so privileged to have known you and you are most definitely the best teacher that anyone could ever ask for. Thank you Sir for everything and anyone who had the opportunity to call you their teacher, truly were blessed as I was, because you were made for the job.

I don’t know where he is now, but I hope his days are filled with beauty and blessing beyond. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

The Main Razer Laptop

No, I am not talking about shaving. I’m talking about the awesome brand of gaming laptops and gear which is made for gamers by gamers. They have an amazing line up of laptops, but also have keyboards, mice, headsets, a phone, and gear for Xbox One and PS4.

They currently have 4 Razer Blade models. The Blade Stealth at 13.3″, Blade 15.6, Blade Pro 17.3(full HD), and Blade Pro 17.3(4K). Their prices range from the Stealth 13′ starting at $1,369, to the Blade Pro 17 starting at $2,549.

Today I want to focus on the Razer Blade 15. It is Ultra fast and Ultra small. It is 0.66″thin and jam packed with features for great performance.

It has a 15.6″ edge to edge display and 144Hz refresh rate. You can also enjoy 4K touch display with a wide colour gamut for ultimate vibrancy. Having an Aluminum unibody , it features a black anodized finish with a solid, refined touch.

It is all brought together and powered by an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 6 core processor and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10 Series Graphics with Max-Q design. This laptop has fast and upgradeable PCIe SSD storage and dual-channel memory. It’s cooling system utilizes a custom vapour chamber and thermal materials. You can directly connect up to 3 external displays through the Thunderbolt 3, Mini Display Port, and HMDI. It also has 3 USB 3.1 ports.

This laptop is has all top of the line features like a full RGB Keyboard, a precise glass touchpad, Synapse 3 advanced control system, intel wireless-AC 9260 Bluetooth 5, and an Array Microphone.

All in all, this would be the laptop to have for all of your gaming needs. It’s very portable and easy to take with you on the go. You can hook up your xbox one or PS4 controller to it and play anywhere. No need to be stuck to a console all the time anymore.

Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post in anyway, and I own nothing and no names associated with this blog post. You can find all of the information you need and more from their website http://www.razer.com.

I am just an avid lover of all the things Razer has to offer.

Motivational Monday… on Tuesday.

We all made it through the long weekend, and today is back to the grind.
Tuesday is our Monday this week.

This work week may be short, but I just want you to know, that any struggle you may face this week, or anytime, you can get through it. You will get through it.

To all the hard working parents, single or together. To all the people trying to make it day by day. Whatever your struggle is, this moment shall pass and you will be stronger because of it. You will get through this. Take some time for yourself. Just stop and take 5 mins, even if its locked in the bathroom. If you need to let the tears flow, let them. Everyone needs a good cry sometimes.

For me, it may be Tuesday morning, but I had a rough Friday night, with my show ending. I know it may seem trivial to a lot of people, but 7 years is a longtime to be attached to something and be part of something bigger than myself. So this morning, now that I’m alone with my thoughts. I have my hot chocolate with whipped cream and cinnamon. I’m taking that moment to reflect on all the good that Adam and Eddy gave me and so many other people with the Once Upon A Time series. I’m glad I got to be part of something like that. It may not have been on the larger scale, but speaking with Adam Horowitz and some cast members in recent years was truly great. Being apart of that fandom and meeting so many great people in the process, making many new connections, has been so rewarding.

I guess, what I’m trying to say is, no matter how hard the goodbye was, there are so many positive aspects to it. If you are having a rough time, just step back and look for one positive aspect in your life. Something as simple as breathing. You are Alive and have so many chances to change your direction. You may not see it right now, but you will.

My wish for anyone who reads this, is that your week goes by smoothly and what ever challenges you face, may they be small, and may the sun shine for you.

Much love all ❤️ Have a great week.

“You are where you need to be, just take a deep breath.” quoted from Lana Parrilla.

Monday Blues

Today’s Update:

It was Mother’s Day weekend, and this house was super crazy. My cat Sauce had her kittens Saturday morning, 5 beautiful babies. My puppy Hendrix has developed separation anxiety and was very upset when me and the kids went to visit Nanny and Poppy without him Saturday afternoon. Sunday was well spent with my 3 beautiful children and their father. I shed a few tears from the lovely hand made gifts the kids gave me and the flowers my middle son brought home from Sunday school for me. Unfortunately my youngest daughter woke up yesterday morning at 5 am burning up with a fever and throwing up everywhere, so she spent most of the day in bed, calling out to me every so often when she wasn’t asleep to let me know she had thrown up again and to come clean it up. Thankfully she is feeling much better now.

Now today is Monday and my laptop with all of my work on it has died completely. Can we say Monday Blues. A lot of my work is saved thanks to Microsoft’s OneDrive options and through being able to access wordpress on my phone, but I have lost quite a bit more. The primary school is closed today for PD Day for the kids, the teachers all have meeting or workshops or something, so their father was absolutely a god sent when he got them ready and took them to the playground, for me to get a bit of work done around here. My youngest, feeling much better, had been asking since she woke up this morning about going to the playground today because the sun is shining and that the best reason to go outside to play in her eyes. Does a child really need a reason to want to go outside and play? I take that as a small victory anytime the kids would rather be outside than inside. It’s refreshing to see. My oldest son wasn’t to happy this morning when he realized his school was open today and he had to get up, especially since his brother and sister got to stay home.

Now I sit here and get to figure out what to do about this stuff I lost. I guess there isn’t much I can do, just go from here and begin again. Trying to get used to a small screen is no fun though. Positivity stay with me. You see, not only am I trying to get this blog up off the ground and running, but I am also in the midst of writing a novel. That’s where most of the work was lost. I thought I had it uploaded to the OneDrive or cloud, or whatever it is, but I never. I’m going to need a case of energy drinks to get me through this, HA. I also have a whimpering puppy at my feet who wants all my attention, he can be so adorable.

My handsome sweetie, he is. I just cant wait for the time to come that he actually sleeps through the night. He keeps waking around 2:30 and 3 Am every morning and trying to stay up and play for the rest of the night. Then of course I have to be up at 6:30am.

Anyhow all that is my Monday Update. Hopefully Ill have a better post up tomorrow.

Much love to you all and have a great Monday.

What a time we had.

Once Upon a Time is an American fantasy drama television series that premiered on October 23, 2011, on ABC. The show follows various fairy-tale characters who were transported to the real world and robbed of their original memories by a powerful curse. The first six seasons were largely set in the fictitious seaside town of Storybrooke, Maine, with Emma Swan as the lead character, while the seventh season takes place in a Seattle, Washington neighborhood called Hyperion Heights, with a new main narrative led by Swan’s son, an adult Henry Mills, and a new curse to break. It borrows elements and characters from the Disney franchise and popular Western literature, folklore, and fairy tales. Once Upon a Time was created by Lost and Tron: Legacy writers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. For the first six seasons, the series aired on Sundays. On May 11, 2017, ABC renewed the series for a 22-episode seventh season, moving to Friday, which premiered on October 6, 2017.In February 2018, it was announced the seventh season would serve as the final season of the series.

Once Upon A Time finishes up on May 18th after a very successful 7 season run. It originally air on my birthday Oct. 23rd 2011, and I have yet to miss an episode, and like many other fans, have spent many hours binge watching through hiatuses to keep me going until a new episode would arrive. I would even have themed snacks to go along with an episode and it was once a girls night for me and friends to get together and hush over what would happen to our beloved characters next. To say I was heart broken when I heard that the series was cancelled, well that’s an understatement. I was saddened when most of the original cast left and they had a mini reboot, and got moved to Friday nights, but this is something to get used to. It still hasn’t sunk in that this won’t be my weekly retreat anymore. I miss Emma already, but being the Evil Regal(A name for fans of the Evil Queen) that I am, it’s going to be hard saying goodbye to Regina/Roni.

This show helped me through some of the lowest times in my life. I spent a whole month in hospital after my second son was born and binged watch this whenever I couldn’t keep my head up. That’s a story for another time though.

So, tomorrow night is the first of the 2 part series finale, and I like many others will have the tissue box handy as we say goodbye to one of the best shows of all time. We will remember the fond memories this show has brought to us all, and all of the hard work that the cast and crew put in for the past 7 seasons to bring us such a masterpiece every week. Where do we go from here though? It is going to be hard to find a new show to compare to what joy is brought me.

Much Love to all of you and have a beautiful Thursday.

May the 4th Be with You.

Happy Friday Folks 🙂

This has certainly been an interesting week to say the least.  I never thought that when I started this journey that I would be adding another family member to my little Burt crew. Needless to say, Wednesday while I was scrolling Facebook, it came up that this little dude was in need of his forever home.img_0117.jpg

Everyone, I introduce to you Hendrix, the newest member of the Burt Crew. I have found myself a walking buddy. He definitely is keeping my mind preoccupied so I am not focusing on cigarette cravings as much, which is really good. I am doing a lot better than I thought I would, but then again you might come and ask me tomorrow, and I could be in a very different mindset(hopefully not though).

He has his own crate which he sleeps in at night, and I’ve had to make it cozier with his favorite chew toys and pillow.  He may only be 7 weeks old, but so far he is really good at communicating when he needs to go outside.  He also loves trying to help me out with my workouts.

So I have been using the Nike Training App for my workouts for the past 3 weeks, and I know because of my last post that today was supposed to be a recovery day, but something happened to the app yesterday. All of my work has been reset and I had to restart my workout schedule all over again. Now, today I have a workout and tomorrow is recovery day. I do love the app but not pleased with this setback.

Back to the cute news, if any of you have any puppy toy recommendations, or any comments or questions at all, please feel free to leave them in the section down below.

Much love everyone and have a great weekend!

The Journey

So first off, welcome to my blog, I hope you like it.

I’ve recently decided it was time to get a few things in my life in order, and my heath and fitness was at the top of that list. I have been a chronic couch potato and soft drink enthusiast for so long, my body has become angry with me.  I am finally fed up with constantly being tired and overweight, that i have decided to actively do something about it. I want to be able to play with my children outside and not be gasping for air every 5 steps.

So come along for the ride with me, and watch me track what I do, along with some tips like meal prep planning Mondays, and finding the perfect gym. Ill be reviewing different workout equipment and apps. There will be loads more info to come in the future, as it becomes available.

Kick off day is May 1st.

Much love and have a great day from my house to yours :).

Update: Along with all of the health and fitness to be present on my page, it is not my only passion. I will be touching on other topics and passions in my life.

So welcome to my
Journey:)
