Happy Valentines Day💕

That sums up this post.

Happy Valentines Day.

I hope you have people close to you that you love and love you.
I hope you know you are loved.
I hope you take the time to breathe today.
I hope you know you are a magnificent being.

That’s a lot of hope, I know.

Today, know how truly blessed you are. If you are alone on this Valentine’s Day, why not treat yourself to some me time. Even if that is just taking a bubble bath and sitting back with a coffee and reading a good book.

Treat Yo Self… to some chocolate, and a good movie.

This day doesn’t have to be about all the material stuff you can give someone, that true just collects dust in a corner. Do something nice for someone else.

If you have a spouse/partner, help with the house work, or offer to make a meal. Come together as a team and show your loved one that they are appreciated.

Sending all my love to anyone who reads this.

The Happiest of Valentines Day to you All from Me.

Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken and Rice.

Tonight’s Supper was so easy. I put chicken thighs into the slow cooker at 11 am this morning and let them slow cook on low all afternoon. I also salt and peppered them.

At around 1:30 pm, I pouring in a full bottle of VH Honey Garlic sauce to add the best flavour to the chicken.

The I just let the chicken cook on low until 4:45 pm.

I took the chicken out of the slow cooker to drain and placed it on a plate.

I also made a pot of minute rice which took roughly 10 minutes to cook, from boiling the water to adding the chicken bullion cube and taking off the heat and keeping covered for 5 minutes.

To add to that, I made a noodle sidekick for the children, who aren’t to fond of rice on times.

It turned out to be a beautiful meal, and I used the sauce that was left over to pour over my rice which adds some lovely flavour to the rice.

This meal turned out amazing!

The chicken cost $6

The box of rice was $4( and that box will last a long time in this house)

The sidekick cost $1.

Meat Pie

This has to be one of the cheapest and easiest meals I know how to make. It is the perfect meal for a cold fall evening to warm you up. This is what We had for supper last night.

The cost to make this meal was $10.

Ground Beef was $5
2 Cans Of Vegetable Soup was $2
Pillsbury Pie Crust was $3

That is all in ingredients you need to make this lovely dish.

First you have to fry up the ground beef.

After it has browned up, you drain off any grease and return it to the frying pan, where you then mix in the 2 cans of vegetable soup.

Once this is done, you can get the pie pan ready. I have always used a Pyrex dish for my pies because it is the best to place in the oven. You also need to preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, for roughly an hour or until the crust is golden brown.

The Pillsbury Pie Crust comes with two sheets and one is used to cover the pie pan and the second one is used to cover the top of the pie.

Once you have covered the pie, you press around the edges to seal in all of the meaty goodness, and can cut off the excess pastry dough. Make sure to cut 4 slits in the top of the pie for venting to allow some heat to get out.

In the end, you come out with a beautiful pie to be eaten by itself, or you can make some stovetop gravy to pour over the top. Either way, it is a lovely cheap meal that can make at least 4 servings, depending on how large of a slice you wish to serve.

Happy Friday Everyone 🙂

Tony’s Chili

On the menu for Supper tonight:

Tony’s Chili.

1 pound Ground Beef

2 Onions (chopped)

1 can crushed tomatoes

2 cans mushrooms (don’t drain)

3 Multi coloured Bell Peppers ( chopped)

2 cans red Kidney Beans ( drained and washed)

1 bottle of Chili Sauce

1 tsp of Chili powder ( or to taste)

Fry up the ground beef in pot, and drain off any grease. Throw in chopped onions, chopped bell peppers, mushrooms, crushed tomatoes and Chili sauce.

Drain and wash the kidney beans and then add them and the Chili powder as well.

Bring to a boil on stove top and let simmer for roughly an hour, but the longer it summers on low the better it tastes.

I usually put it on low for about 3 hours. It brings out all the flavours.

I also usually serve it with garlic bread.

Side note: This Chili is also really good with a dollop of Sour Cream on top and used as a dip for Tostito Scoops.
