~*The Lion King*~

July 19th is coming, and I have no chill!!!

It has been a long time since I have been this excited for a movie. Especially a remake, but The Lion King has been in my heart since it first debut in 1994.  Ever since the first time I heard “The Circle of Life”, and watched baby Simba be brought up high over the pride lands and presented to the Kingdom in the now iconic scene, this movie has held a very special place in my heart.

I’m looking forward to all the CGI effects and hearing Beyonce bring Nala back to life. As some people have come to say, she really was born for this part and fits perfectly into the role.

The Lion King was the first Disney animated feature to be an original story, rather than be based on an already existing work. The filmmakers have said that the story of The Lion King was inspired by the lives of Joseph and Moses, from the Bible, and William Shakespeare’s Hamlet.

Like the play, in The Lion King Simba, the main protagonist, is faced with the loss of his father who was killed by his power hungry uncle. Simba is then forced to battle his uncle for control over their kingdom, just as Hamlet does.

The Lion King sends important messages regarding friendship, love, and hope.

My Kids Nintendo Christmas List.

This years Christmas is a little different for my children. They usually have very different, very particular items they ask Santa for. This time around though, its different, aside from my youngest daughter asking for the usual Pony or Puppy, the resounding ask between all 3 of them is Nintendo Switch Everything. I swear they get their taste in electronics from me.

Since Christmas is right around the corner, 13 days to be exact. I figured I would make a list of the top 5 Nintendo items that are anticipated by 3 children under our Christmas tree this year.

1. Nintendo Switch

This one is an obvious one. The console is perfect for so many different reasons. You can have it connected to the tv, but if someone else wants to watch tv, it can easily convert to a handheld and be carried on the go. Right now there is a promotion on at Walmart, if you buy a console you also receive a $50 Nintendo Eshop card, which is enough to buy a downloadable game.

2. Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu/ Let’s Go Eevee

The Latest games from the Pokemon Franchise to were released on Nov 16th and have had a huge success in the less than 2 weeks they have been available. There is probably not too much difference between the two games except for the main Pokemon.

In this house we are divided down the middle on favourites. The girls like Pikachu and the boys like Eevee.

3. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

This game is set to be released on December 7th, and will most definitely be received with the same excitement and hype as the Pokemon Games, if not more. People have been waiting for this Game since the time of the GameCube.

4.Pokemon Mega Construct Battle packs.

My kids are intensely in love with Legos and Pokemon, so this brings both together perfectly. They range in size and price. You can get massive battle scenes, or individual Pokémon in pokeballs to build and have endless hours of fun with.

5. Pokemon GX Boxes

These boxes also range in price depending on the main Pokemon on the box. It has the Pokemon foil promo TCG card, 1foil oversized card, 4 Pokemon booster packs, and a code for the Pokemon Trading Card Game Online.

My kids love spending time playing the card game, having battles and comparing cards.

Wednesday Wisdom! I’m back!

First off I need to apologize for my little hiatus I’ve taken for the past couple weeks. Life threw me for a loop and knocked me down.

Now I am back fiercer than ever and with a clearer vision of where I want to to from here.

Self doubt creeped in and reared its ugly head once again, and my mind became a dark place where every bad thought took over and I lost belief in what I could and will accomplish.

Once in a while life i gonna throw a curve at you or knock you down completely. The main point that you need to take away from all of this is;

It’s ok to fall down,

It’s ok to fail,

It’s ok to get knocked down,

But please get back up, come back stronger than ever before. Show the world that you won’t stay down.

You Are Loved.

Wednesday Wisdom

If you don’t like where you are in this stage in your life….

Then change it. You aren’t a tree. You are not stuck to one space.

I find when I get stuck on what to do next.. I just get up from where I am sitting, step outside and breathe some fresh air and it helps clear my head and refocus on the next task I am going to undertake.

So if you are pacing the floor, don’t know what to do, trying to find a new challenge….

Go for a walk, even if its to another room in the house. Turn on some music, jump around, dance!

The ideas will come. They are there in your head waiting to be grabbed hold of and brought to the light. Turn the dream into a goal, and send it forth for the world to see.

So what if some people don’t like it. I am sure there will be people out there who will.

Side note: Do not let anyone stand in your way. Do not let them hold you back.

You were born to shine!

Disney Disney Disney

This Thursdays Thoughts, run deep into the realm of Disney.

Our favourite Mouse turn 90 this year, after first appearing in the animated cartoon”SteamBoat Willie”, back on Nov. 18th 1928.

Mickey and his friends have been around for decades, and have always put a smile on everyone’s face. From Steamboat Willie to The Newest Mickey Shows on the family channel for younger generations to love and adore.

Every season that comes and goes, there is always something to find Mickey Mouse involved in, and we cant get enough.

Next month is October, and I am excited to share my own Disney DIY for a Mickey Halloween in my little corner of the world.
